LifeDev: Time Management, Simplified: How to Be Productive With No Worries

I too have been using GTD for the last year or so and have simplified mine down to a similar system as yours. The difference is I tend to carry around a few 3X5 cards to Capture ideas. I also use a pocket mod book http://pocketmod.com to carry around in my money clip for my MIT and to call list.

This has certainly lessoned my load and let me concentrate on what I need to do.

I've got a hybrid between you and David.

A moleskine pocket, with 1/2 the pockets removed to make it skinnier, stuffed full of 3x5 cards with a nice mechanical pencil in the spine.

David Allen should write a GTD book on GTD.

    Leo,

I have bought the book of David Allen (GTD, of course) because of you! :))

I think I am already a fan of GTD and will see if it will work for me!

    Best regards and good luck!

GTD is a great way to measure your effectiveness. I really believe in organizing things and focusing in on the more important items.

Interesting! A few points, meant to be constructive. First, your summary misses some major concepts, and highlights others that are secondary. For example, major: figuring out action. Minor: contexts.

Second, it seems like your simplified system doesn't have a place for everything that comes up, which is a major consideration in clearing your mind. For example, if an idea occurs to you, but you're not ready to act on it, you need a place to store it. Otherwise, it'll still be on your mind. I don't see where it would go in your system...

Thanks for the stimulating post - I like the direction you're taking!

I haven't gotten much done these days. I've just been staying at home waiting for something to happen, but whatever. I guess it doesn't bother me. I've pretty much been doing nothing to speak of, but it's not important.

I've just been hanging out doing nothing. Basically nothing seems important. I've basically been doing nothing to speak of, but eh.

I've more or less been doing nothing. Eh. I've just been letting everything pass me by lately, but so it goes. I haven't gotten anything done today. Today was a complete loss. I've just been sitting around doing nothing.

I've just been staying at home waiting for something to happen. I just don't have anything to say right now. My life's been basically unremarkable , but eh. I can't be bothered with anything recently.

For implementing GTD and ZTD you might try out this web-based application:

    Gtdagenda

You can use it to manage your goals, projects and tasks, set next actions and contexts, use
    checklists, schedules and a calendar.
A mobile version is available too.

As with the last update, now Gtdagenda has full Someday/Maybe functionality, you can easily move your tasks and projects between "Active", "Someday/Maybe" and "Archive". This will clear your mind, and will boost your productivity.

    Hope you like it.

Excellent post. I've been reading many time management books before because I want to maximize my time in an abundant manner in a simple scheme but I only learned it all the way from GTD by David Allen.
